Welcome to ‘Windward’

Windward, a stunning two-storey residence crafted by Munro Designed Homes, stands as a

testament to exceptional craftsmanship and innovative construction approaches.

From the outset, Windward impresses with its cohesive design choices, exemplified by the

integration of design elements both inside and out. The consistent use of the same stone tiles

both internally and externally, extending from the entry piers through to the stylish Horizon

lowline gas fireplace and terrace piers, reflects a careful attention to design.

Windward's exterior reflects a contemporary coastal theme, blending seamlessly with its canal

location. Strategically positioned living and design features optimise the home's north-easterly

aspect, with the ground floor designed to capture natural light and scenic views. The first floor

offers a serene retreat, featuring a north-east facing main bedroom with a large balcony

overlooking the pool, terrace and canal. The western-facing garage, laundry, back wall of the

kitchen and wardrobes occupy the non-liveable spaces. Powder coated Heka Hoods to the first

floor, grey glass to all ground floor windows and doors, provide minimal styling whilst providing

protection from the elements.

Inside, the hub of this house is the beautiful expansive living/dining area leading onto the terrace

and pool. Windward's interior features further elevate its appeal, with European innovation and

quality evident in stylish Laufen counter basins and Siemens appliances, complimented by

brushed brass accessories. Feature walls in Dulux Powered Rock and Pipe Clay add character.

The wide exposed timber staircase in Surian Batu with its top mounted glass balustrade,

maintains an airy and open entrance and allows for the future location of a piano. The cabinetry

whilst simple white is designed by Merge Interiors and fitted by All Fit Cabinets and it

incorporates hidden cupboards giving thoughtful functionality to the living space. Furthermore,

recessed mirrored cupboards and strip lighting to vanities and cupboards add to the home's

distinctive features. One of the most innovative aspects of Windward's construction is the

utilisation of the sloping rear block to incorporate a pool into the retaining wall, elevating both

the pool and adding to the overall design aesthetic.

The build did however, present challenges, including the need for slip circle analysis to ensure

the foundations did not overload the revetment wall along the canal, whilst locating the pool as

close as possible to that wall. Having a 10-meter frontage and being one of the last homes to be

built in the area, there was limited street access for material deliveries and parking.

In summary, Windward is more than just a home; it is a masterpiece of design and construction.

Munro Designed Homes has crafted a residence that exceeds the highest standards,

seamlessly integrating into its coastal surroundings while offering luxurious living spaces and

innovative design elements. Windward stands as a shining example of superior craftsmanship,

thoughtful design, and innovative construction approaches, setting a new benchmark for

coastal living.
